Prom-TrailerSynopsis: At “Prom,” every couple has a story and no two are exactly alike. Several intersecting stories unfold at one high school as the big dance approaches; “Prom” portrays the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite. For Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden), it’s a battle of wills as she finds herself drawn to the guy (Thomas McDonell) who gets in the way of her perfect prom. Fellow seniors Mei (Yin Chang) and Tyler (De’Vaughn Nixon) harbor secrets, while others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school’s most seminal events. There are hundreds of nights in high school, but there’s only one “Prom.”

Thoughts: Disney gives us an interesting perspective on a group of fictional high schoolers as their high school “careers” come to an end. A concept that is by no means new, but this trailer has that spark the lets us put that aside. I don’t think Prom is for me. I don’t want to see it, but that does not mean I don’t endorse it. I can tell this isn’t some cookie cutter teen movie that preys on the tween audience and their easily entertained minds. This movie actually looks like it has some heart put into it.

Prom hits theaters April 29th, 2011. Starring Aimee Teegarden, Aimee Teegarden, Trevor Peterson, Dean Norris, and Nicholas Braun. Directed by Joe Nussbaum.
