Mars Needs Moms hits theaters March 11th, 2011. Based on the book by Berkeley Breathed. Starring Seth Green, Joan Cusack, Elisabeth Harnois, and Dan Fogler. Directed by Simon Wells.

Atlas Shrugged hits theaters April 15th, 2011. Starring Taylor Schilling and Grant Bowler. Directed by Paul Johansson.

X-Men: First Class hits theaters June 3rd, 2011. Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon. Directed by Matthew Vaughn.

The Sunset Limited airs on HBO Febuary 12th, 2011. Starring Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. Directed by Tommy Lee Jones. Based off the play by Cormac McCarthy.

Thoughts: A slightly better trailer than the previous. But nothing marginally different. Great use of the Nine Inch Nails track, ‘The Hand That Feeds’.

Red Riding Hood hits theaters March 11th, 2011. Starring Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Virginia Madsen, and Julie Christie. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

Thoughts: An interesting character card like teaser. I guess it’s supposed to flesh out all the main players true character, but they all sound the same lol. So, nothing too revealing or worth seeing in this teaser. I am not even going to score it. It’s more of a commercial teaser than an artistic teaser.

Game of Thrones will debut on HBO in spring of 2011. Starring Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey.

Thoughts: Stylish and filled with glorious action sequences, Priest looks like a somewhat dumb but fun as hell to watch Summer blockbuster. I like the cast and I especially like the main villain played by Karl Urban. The movie definitely feels like a true to form manga adaption.

Priest hits theaters May 13th, 2011. Based off the popular Manga series of the same name by Hyung Min-woo. Starring Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Stephen Moyer, and Lily Collins. Directed by Scott Charles Stewart

Thoughts: I never saw the first Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, nor have I read the books, so I don’t think I am the right guy to give my thoughts on this trailer. The books and movies have a target audience and fan fare that I am not apart of. So I am not going to give this trailer a score.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules hits theaters March 25th, 2011. Starring Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Rachael Harris, and Devon Bostick. Directed by David Bowers.

Thoughts: An interesting trailer that tries to enchant the viewers with music and enigmatic lines. It’s weird. Robert Pattinson is one of those actors who I can’t see beyond his name. I never believe he is playing character. Just himself. Like, “Oh, it’s Robert Pattinson in a circus movie. Whatchu doing in the circus, Robert?” or “Hey, Robert is fighting off a group of vampires. Whatchu fighting those vampires for, Robert?”. Yeah….

Oh right, back to the trailer. It looks decent. Can’t get a solid vibe from it. The cinematography looks great. Very Benjamin Button. I like the cast for the most part, but we don’t really get a feel for the characters they play, or what is going on in the movie. It’s a flash back, there is a love triangle, and elephants. Ok. I need a little more than that in order to get my ticket.

Water for Elephants hits theaters April 15th, 2011. Starring Christoph Waltz, Robert Pattinson, and Reese Witherspoon. Directed by Francis Lawrence.

Thoughts: I am indifferent with this first trailer for Marvel’s Thor. I mean, I was never a big comic Thor fan to begin with. So I can’t really say I have high expectations for this movie. But the trailer looks like it has all necessary parts for a comic book action flick. State of the art CG: Check, Brooding hero: Check, Unrealistically loyal love interest: Check, Too many villains: CHECK.

The trailer gives us everything we have seen before in an action trailer, it just has a different face. And that is ok. As I said, I don’t have high expectations.

Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, and Anthony Hopkins. Directed by Kenneth Branagh. Look for it in theaters April 27th, 2011.

Thoughts: My impressions of I Am Number Four have not changed much from the previous trailers. This trailer makes the film look slightly better then the likes of a CW fantasy drama in the effects department, but not much else.

Thoughts: Beastly looks like what I would expect from a modern tween targeted re-telling of Beauty & The Beast. A movie that I will probably loathe watching, but I need to give credit to the makeup effects. I find them surprsingly fresh and creative. They could have just gone the Quasimodo route and make him look physically deformed, but instead they create this weird mix of horrific yet beautiful scarring.

On a side note, does anyone else think Mary-Kate Olsen has some absolutely terrible lines in this trailer? They are cringe worthy.

Thoughts: Holy shit. I have never posted so many bullshit trailers in one day. I am not mad because a Smurfs movie is being made. I am mad that it is so typical. Before the trailer even got to it, I knew I was going to see “smurf’d” pop up. Sure enough, the word “smurf’d” is plastered across the screen. Then the catch phrase “smurf happens” appears on screen. Really? American kids are dumb because we entertain them with dumb movies.

Ok, enough ranting. Sorry, I think I just snapped from 3 terrible trailers I have seen today. Seriously though… SMURF’D! Ten bucks the line “you got smurf’d” is going to be said in this movie. Don’t look at your sword Rob. Don’t do it. Nooooo….

The Smurfs star Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Sofia Vergara, Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, Hank Azaria, Alan Cumming, George Lopez, Jeff Foxworthy, and Paul Reubens. Directed by Raja Gosnell.

Thoughts: I am a huge Half-Life fan. So when I see a trailer for a fan film the focuses around the Half-Life universe, I start getting all teary eyed. I cannot wait to see this movie! Indie budget aside, the film looks really cool.

Beyond Black Mesa is directed by Brain Curtin. No detail when we will get to see this gem. I’ll keep an eye open.
