Thoughts: Golden Slumber advertises itself as a gripping mystery thriller in this trailer, but I am not all that interested. I think the mystery of who is after the main character and why they are framing him is too concealed. I would at least like see the shoes of who ever is hiding behind the curtain. The whole “4 people connected by the Beatles song, Golden Slumber” is surprising and does peak my interest a little. But yea, still way to vague.

Thoughts: A rather confusing trailer this is. We know it’s about a village that somehow is protected from the black plague. We know some knights, or rather, men who dress like knights, venture off to find out how this village is safeguarded from the plague. And somehow that involves a lot of violence and hints of the supernatural. Very very vague. Not a lot for me, as a viewer, to like. With Sean Bean starring, it looks like Lord Of The Rings. A sort of spin off story of men from middle earth.

Synopsis

Thoughts: This is a much better trailer than 1st for The Lincoln Lawyer. It has all the right parts for a unique crime mystery / thriller. My only question is this: Does the whole Lincoln car play a factor at all in the story’s plot? Or is it just a element that helps flesh out McConaughey’s character at first glance?

Thoughts: My impressions of I Am Number Four have not changed much from the previous trailers. This trailer makes the film look slightly better then the likes of a CW fantasy drama in the effects department, but not much else.

Thoughts: The Lincoln Lawyer trailer advertises an intense mystery thriller, but there is something lacking. Like why does an Matthew McConaughey’s character even get involved on a personal level with the mystery at hand? Seems like one scene he is telling Ryan Phillippe to play it innocent and the next he is desperately trying to unravel the truth behind the crime. One could argue all lawyers need to know the truth behind their defendant’s crime, but this trailer is definitely showing McConaughey’s diving deep into. I know this will all be revealed in the movie, but for trailer viewing sake, a little more info would be nice.

The last scene of the trailer made me laugh. It’s just so tense, yet we have no clue why. All we know is… SHIT IS SERIOUS UP IN THIS TRAILER!

Thoughts: Isn’t it weird to see Johnny Depp act like a regular dude? It almost looks like he uncomfortable acting like a normal guy. Oh wait, never mind. That is just Angelina Jolie walking into his line of sight. Right…

The Tourist hits theaters December 10th, 2010. Starring Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, and Paul Bettany. Directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

Thoughts: This featurette is putting more of a negative spin on the movie for me. It’s looking very cliché. Especially with the addition of the love interest who follows the movie’s hero with unquestionable loyalty. *sigh*

Thoughts: Damn. I was really hoping for something a little more original in the trailer for Source Code. Reason being, it’s directed by Duncan Jones whose debut film, ‘Moon’, was effing phenomenal. Source Code does feature one of my favorite actor, Jake Gyllenhaal, but it looks a hell of a lot like Tony Scott’s Déjà Vu. My feelings on this one are more personal than anything. Expectations and originality aside, Source Code as a whole looks to be an entertaining movie. Although I don’t know if I will be able to take this movie seriously at all. The government created technology that allows for someone to transfer into someone else’s body, BUT ONLY for the last 8 minutes of of their life? Oddly far fetched and specific. I know I know, I can say that about a lot of things. But the tone of this trailer is desperate, which means it really wants me to feel for the story. But I can’t do that if I am subconsciously thinking how absurd in detail the technology is to begin with. Ok, will stop thinking now.

Source Code hits theaters April 15th, 2011. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan, and Jeffrey Wright. Directed by Duncan Jones.

Thoughts: I think the concept for this movie is amazing. Painting Santa Clause as a vicious and wild mythological beast in human form makes me giggle just thinking about it. On top of that, the cinematography featured in the trailer looks great. The trailer gives us just enough information to keep is drooling and wanting more. To bad there has been no set release date for the US. Most likely I will have to wait for this to hit DVDs or Netflix. Which is fine. As long as I get to see it!

Thoughts: Unknown looks like a mix of 2004′s ‘The Forgotten’ and the upcoming film ‘The Adjustment Bureau’. Mixed elements aside, Liam Neeson is doing his usual. His usual being kicking ass and taking names. I swear, Liam Neeson is the Irish equivalent of Chuck Norris. This is not a complaint. The man is a modern day legend.

Thoughts: At first I thought I was watching a revamp of Ryan Gosling’s blockbuster film, The Notebook, but with the roles reversed. Then half way through the trailer, the eeriness and “OH SHHHIIITTT! HE CRAZY! GET OUTA THERE GIRL!” sets in. Now the trailer has my attention. The trailer also sells the movie as being based on a real life murder mystery, which adds to the appeal. Generally, anytime a movie is advertised as being based on real events, our interest grows because we naturally feel more connected to it, being that is takes place in our realm of reality.

I am not expecting a scary thrill ride, but rather a dark mystery, and that’s A-OK with me.

Side note, anyone else raise an eye brow when Kristen Wiig randomly appeared? She is doing serious roles now? Huh… that’s cool.

All Good Things is set to release December 3rd, 2010. Starring Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst, Frank Langella, and Kristen Wiig. Directed by Andrew Jarecki.
