Synopsis: The multi-generational phenomenon that has inspired millions to embrace their inner-Gleek will soon bring them together to experience Glee a whole new way.

For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost).

Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

Thoughts: I don’t know what to say. I am actually excited to see Scream 4. Scream 3 was absolute crap, and this trailer looks like everything I would expect from a reboot of the franchise, not in a good way. But I guess it’s the nostalgia of it all. Yes, I said nostalgia. I was just a little kid when the first Scream came out. It’s been a while.

Scream 4 hits theaters April 15th, 2011. Starring David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, and Adam Brody. Directed by Wes Craven.

Thoughts: This third trailer for Battle: Los Angeles doesn’t offer up anything notably new from the previous trailers. It is still using the iconic track, “Sun’s Gone Dim and The Sky’s Black” by Jóhann Jóhannsson. It’s a great song, but the re-use of it in this 3rd trailer gives me a sense of déjà vu.

But overall, if this is the 1st trailer you have seen for the film, you will probably be salivating over the prospect of seeing this epic alien invasion flick.

Battle: Los Angeles hits theaters March 11th, 2011. Starring Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman.

Thoughts: Another solid trailer for Paul. This trailer gives us a better idea of Paul’s personality and abilities.

Thoughts: Cedar Rapids looks gooooood. Loving the ensemble cast and unique story. I never thought I would see Ed Helms star in a leading role for a movie. But he looks like a good lead in Cedar Rapids. I am excited to see this flick.

Cedar Rapids hits theaters February 11th, 2011. Starring Ed Helms, John C. Reilly, Anne Heche, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Kurtwood Smith, Stephen Root, Sigourney Weaver, and Alia Shawkat. Directed by Miguel Arteta.

Thoughts: I feel disappointed folks. But to be honest, my feelings on this trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides were not entirely unexpected. Pirates 2 and 3 were so epic. How do you top a villain like Davey Jones? No offense to Ian McShane, but he is no Bill Nighy. Nor does his character, Blackbeard, have amazing CG lobster claws and octopus beard. No matter what people think about Pirates 2 & 3, Davey Jones was effin amazing. And now On Stranger Tides looks like it’s going backwards a bit. I am not trying to say I demand every movie trump the previous in CG awesomeness, but On Stranger Tides looks like Pirates 1. And I have already seen Pirates 1. I’ve seen the whole trilogy. So On Stranger Tides’ needs to step it’s game up. It has 3 older brothers to live up to. This trailer doesn’t give me the feeling I am seeing anything new. Just a lot of the same. JOHNNY DEPP IN DRUNKIN PIRATE MIS-ADVENTURES! ARG!

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits theaters May 20th, 2011. Starring Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Penélope Cruz, and Ian McShane. Directed by Rob Marshall.

Thoughts: Another great look at Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch. This featurette does raise some questions though. Like, if the girls are imagining this fantastic world, where are they pulling it from? Not to stereotype here, but the cast of Sucker Punch don’t exactly come off as samurai / dragons / and futuristic robot fans girls. I just hope they give us some background on that. Like maybe one of them secretly reads comic books and hides them under her bed at the asylum.

Sucker Punch hits theaters March 25, 2011. Starring Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Oscar Isaac, and Carla Gugino. Directed by Zack Snyder.

Thoughts: I am indifferent with this first trailer for Marvel’s Thor. I mean, I was never a big comic Thor fan to begin with. So I can’t really say I have high expectations for this movie. But the trailer looks like it has all necessary parts for a comic book action flick. State of the art CG: Check, Brooding hero: Check, Unrealistically loyal love interest: Check, Too many villains: CHECK.

The trailer gives us everything we have seen before in an action trailer, it just has a different face. And that is ok. As I said, I don’t have high expectations.

Thor stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, and Anthony Hopkins. Directed by Kenneth Branagh. Look for it in theaters April 27th, 2011.

Thoughts: A great teaser trailer. The robots remind me a bit of the Michael Bay transformers, but that is not a complaint. I am glad this teaser trailer gave us a few good glimpses at the robots in the movie instead of hiding them from us. A neat concept that feels like your childhood Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots has just been brought to life. Sweeeettt.

Real Steel hits theaters October 7th, 2011. Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, Evangeline Lilly, Kevin Durand, and Anthony Mackie. Directed by Shawn Levy.

Thoughts: Here it is, the 1st teaser trailer the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It is certainly better than previous Transformer teasers. I really like what is showcased in this trailer but I am still worried about the movie. All I can ask for is let this movie be as good as the 1st movie and no where near as bad as the 2nd. If we see the “twins” again, all my friends will probably walk out of the theaters (if they are even going).

Worries aside, this teaser does give me some hope.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon comes out in theaters July 1st, 2011. Starring Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Patrick Dempsey, Ramon Rodriguez, and Frances McDormand. Directed by Michael Bay.

Thoughts: This second trailer for The Green Hornet is exceptionally better than the first trailer released for the film. We get a little more insight on the characters and development structure of the film. Even the pacing is better. The first trailer got into the action entirely too fast. Yeah, this trailer sells the movie to me.

The Green Hornet hits theaters January 14th, 2011. Starring Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz, Edward James Olmos, and Tom Wilkinson. Directed by Michel Gondry.

Thoughts: Wow. I am shocked. Shocked that Cars 2 doesn’t look good at all. So the second movie is going to be a spy themed comedy? Taking cues from Get Smart I suppose? Seriously, I am shocked Pixar would do a film that borrows so heavily from the spy comedy genre. When I think Pixar, I think quality and originality. Films that are made for children but still entertaining and intelligent enough for adults.

Maybe the film will be a lot better than what this trailer is advertising. If that is the case, someone better fire someone in the trailer production studio cause this looks like a dud.

Cars 2 hits theaters June 24th, 2011. Starring Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Bonnie Hunt, and John Ratzenberger. Directed by John Lasseter.

Thoughts: This trailer does what a proper teaser should. Leaving the viewer curious and wanting more. Unfortunately there is significantly more cowboys than aliens in this trailer. I understand this is an old practice. Hide the monsters until the very last minute, but it’s the year 2010 people. We are not going to be in awe of your awesome CG aliens. You have a better chance of grabbing our attention by actually showing the creatures rather than hiding them.

Cowboys & Aliens hits theaters July 29th, 2011. Starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell, Noah Ringer, and Paul Dano. Directed by Jon Favreau.

Thoughts: It’s been a long wait, but the day has finally come. The full length Green Lantern trailer is here! Woot! The trailer looks good. Real good. It’s everything I thought it would be. Nothing more, nothing less. Lots of action, lots of CG eye candy, and of course good ol’ Ryan Reynolds wit. We don’t get much plot showcase but this is the 1st trailer. I am sure the overall plot will be revealed in detail with future trailers.

Green Lantern hits theaters June 17th, 2011. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Mark Strong, Blake Lively, and Peter Sarsgaard. Directed by Martin Campbell.

Thoughts: I have not laughed this hard watching a trailer in god knows how long. Your Higness looks frakin epic. The trailer speaks for itself. I can’t wait to see this shiz.

Your Highness hits theaters April 8th, 2011. Starring Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman, James Franco, Damian Lewis, Danny McBride, and Justin Theroux. Directed by David Gordon Green.
