Carancho Trailer

Synopsis: In Argentina over 8,000 people die in traffic accidents every year. Behind each of these tragedies is a flourishing industry founded on insurance payouts and legal loopholes. Sosa is a lawyer who tours the A&E Departments of the public hospitals and the police stations in search of potential clients. Luján is a young doctor recently arrived from the provinces. Their love story kicks off one night when Luján and Sosa meet in the street. She’s trying to save a man’s life; he wants him on his client portfolio.

Thoughts: An interesting trailer. The unique mix of rock and chaotic scenes showcased definitely give of some badass vibes, but a little more clarity on the relationship between the two main characters would have been nice.

No release date has been announced at this time for Carancho. Starring Ricardo Darín, Martina Gusman and Carlos Weber. Directed by Pablo Trapero.

Thoughts: Damn, this Red Band trailer for No Strings Attached felt like it went on forever. I was getting worried there would be nothing left I haven’t seen come time to see the movie. Overall, No Strings Attached looks pretty effin funny. Great cast, great characters, and fresh raunchy dialogue / jokes.

Waiting For Forever Trailer

Synopsis: A Hollywood-set romantic tale of a guy who is content to live his life without a job yet with the love of his life, a young actress.

Thoughts: Interesting. Waiting For Forever looks like it has a lot of the same old elements for a ‘romance with a conflict’ film, but I get the feeling it is a little more grounded that the usual fairy tale ending crap. It doesn’t look like Rachel Bilson’s character isn’t trying with all her strength to NOT fall in love with Tom Sturridge’s character. Very interesting. I vibes of ‘A Lot Like Love’ mashed with ‘The Breakup’.

Waiting For Forever hits theaters February, 2011. Starring Rachel Bilson, Tom Sturridge, Jaime King, and Nikki Blonsky. Directed by James Keach.

Beastly Trailer

Synopsis: A modern-day take on the “Beauty and the Beast” tale where a New York teen is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love.

Thoughts: Beastly looks like what I would expect from a modern tween targeted re-telling of Beauty & The Beast. A movie that I will probably loathe watching, but I need to give credit to the makeup effects. I find them surprsingly fresh and creative. They could have just gone the Quasimodo route and make him look physically deformed, but instead they create this weird mix of horrific yet beautiful scarring.

On a side note, does anyone else think Mary-Kate Olsen has some absolutely terrible lines in this trailer? They are cringe worthy.

Blue Valentine – Movie Trailer & Clip

Synopsis: The film centers on a contemporary married couple, charting their evolution over a span of years by cross-cutting between time periods.

Thoughts: A very emotional and touching trailer here for Blue Valentine. The chemistry shown between to two feels real. The acting is top notch. The few lines I heard in the trailer just feel so genuine. I really hope I get to see Blue Valentine.

The film will have a limited release in the United States on December 31st. Unfortunately, I don’t get to see majority of the limited releases because I live in Tampa, Florida. Thank god for Netflix.

Road to Nowhere Trailer

Synopsis: A young filmmaker gets wrapped up in a crime while shooting his new project on location.

Thoughts: There is some beautiful imagery to be seen in the trailer for Road To Nowhere. A plane scene in particular that I had to rewind several times because it looks so real. But overall, the synopsis of this film and the curious vibes I get from the trailer have me very much interested in seeing this one.

No release date has been set for Road to Nowhere. Starring Shannyn Sossamon. Directed by Monte Hellman.

Prom Trailer

Synopsis: At “Prom,” every couple has a story and no two are exactly alike. Several intersecting stories unfold at one high school as the big dance approaches; “Prom” portrays the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite. For Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden), it’s a battle of wills as she finds herself drawn to the guy (Thomas McDonell) who gets in the way of her perfect prom. Fellow seniors Mei (Yin Chang) and Tyler (De’Vaughn Nixon) harbor secrets, while others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school’s most seminal events. There are hundreds of nights in high school, but there’s only one “Prom.”

Thoughts: Disney gives us an interesting perspective on a group of fictional high schoolers as their high school “careers” come to an end. A concept that is by no means new, but this trailer has that spark the lets us put that aside. I don’t think Prom is for me. I don’t want to see it, but that does not mean I don’t endorse it. I can tell this isn’t some cookie cutter teen movie that preys on the tween audience and their easily entertained minds. This movie actually looks like it has some heart put into it.

Prom hits theaters April 29th, 2011. Starring Aimee Teegarden, Aimee Teegarden, Trevor Peterson, Dean Norris, and Nicholas Braun. Directed by Joe Nussbaum.

How Do You Know Trailer

Synopsis: Feeling a bit past her prime at 27, former athlete Lisa Jorgenson finds herself in the middle of a love triangle, as a corporate guy in crisis competes with Lisa’s current, baseball-playing beau.

Thoughts: The unique casting and not so blatantly obvious plot of ‘How Do You Know’ appeals to me. I know it’s a romantic comedy, but it doesn’t look like a romantic comedy. It has a very down to earth feel. I like it. I definitely want to see this one.

Love And Other Drugs Red Band Trailer

Thoughts: Yes! Finally a rom-com that is intelligent enough for me to say yes to when my fiancée asks me to go see it with her. Love and Other Drugs actually looks pretty damn good. And I am not even a fan of Anne Hathaway, but this movie STILL looks good to me.

Just Go With It Trailer

Synopsis: A plastic surgeon, romancing a much younger schoolteacher, enlists his loyal assistant to pretend to be his soon to be ex-wife, in order to cover up a careless lie. When more lies backfire, the assistant’s kids become involved, and everyone heads off for a weekend in Hawaii that will change all their lives.

Thoughts: Just Go With It might have some potential but I am not seeing anything original here. A mish mash of romantic comedy elements. The worst part is that the hot girl Adam Sandler is chasing doesn’t even have an appealing personality. So I really don’t care to see this movie to see whether or not he gets her. Oh, who am I kidding. He gets with Jennifer Anniston’s character. Dur!

Synopsis: Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family’s displeasure.

Thoughts: There are some strong selling points in this trailer. Like the unique cinematography, the interesting spin on the time old plot of red riding hood, and of course Gary Oldman. Yes, Gary Oldman is a selling point. The trailer does seem to lack a bit of soul. It’s just missing that spark that makes me really want to see it.
